Coach Barry Green is in his seventh season as the head women's basketball coach having taken over in 2010-11.
Finished the 2016-17 season as Western State-East Conference Champions and Coach Green was voted WSC-East Coach of Year for the 1st time. He currently has a record of 105-90 and has had four of his teams make the playoffs.
He enters his 24th season as a Marauder coach, spending seven with the women's squad and 18 years as the men's assistant coach. Coach Green came to AVC from CSU Bakersfield, where he was a graduate assistant coach for the men's basketball team.
A graduate of Merced High School, Green was the team's MVP as well as the Central California Conference's MVP. Green played at Columbia College in Sonora, CA for one season, winning Central Valley Conference honorable mention honors.
He then moved to University of Billings Montana, where he played three seasons and received his bachelor's in physical education. He was named the team's MVP in his senior year and was a first team All-Great Northwest Conference selection. He was a second team selection in his sophomore and junior seasons. He received his master's degree in physical education from Azusa Pacific.
Green spent one season as head coach of the boy's team at Trona High School, coming away with a 17-6 record.
Green and his wife, Julie, reside in Lancaster with their daughter, Bailey who played two years for the Marauders, and son, Julian.
Maurisha McKissic, Assistant Coach

Maurisha is a former player for AVC 2010-'12. She was a very dominate post players her sophomore season, leader AVC into the state playoffs. Maurisha was first team Foothill Conference selection her sophomore season. She play on scholorship at Montana State Univ. 2012-'13 and one season at Cal State Univ. San Bernardino 2013-'14.
Carrie Miller, Assistant Coach

Carrie was the head coach for sixth seasons at Glendale College. At Glendale College she was instrumental at improving young women fundamentals, building well-rounded players looking to enter a four-year program, and most importantly, to be prepared student-athletes and contributors to each community they enter. Academics remain on the top of her coaching philosophy.
Born in Lancaster, CA and raised in Little Rock, CA, Carrie attended Littlerock High School, Los Angeles Valley College and Adams State College. She earned her B.A. in Exercise Physiology & Leisure Science and M.A. in Health, Physical Education.
Carrie teaches the game much like she played it as a two-year starter and all-conference player at LA Valley College and then found the same success at Adams State College. She teaches what she preaches and earned all-academic team honors all four years that she played. Carrie was a former assistant coach collegiately at Adams State College in Colorado (2002-03), Antelope Valley College (2003-06; 2009-10), head coach at Rosamond High School (2005-06) and an assistant at Santa Barbara City College (2006-08) before taking over the helm at Glendale.
Her other passion besides basketball is spending time with her daughters, Jaylyn (8) and Jania (3), who are fixtures at games.
